The "Filling our Utes for Farmers" initiative in December 2019 was born out of the collective desire of members within the Ford Rangerettes Official group to make a positive impact on drought-affected farmers in Australia.
The goal was to provide support to 12 farming families in Stanthorpe and Applethorpe who were identified as 'falling through the cracks' during tough times.
To achieve this, we sought permission to directly contact these families and inquire about their specific needs.
Once the families were identified, the Ford Rangerettes Official members rallied together, demonstrating tremendous generosity and community spirit. The outcome was a substantial donation totalling 21 tonnes of essential supplies!
The contributions included a diverse range of items such as food, water, clothing, livestock feed, Christmas-related items, decorations, gifts, kids' school snacks, livestock medicine, and even a few cartons of cold beer. The variety of items reflected a thoughtful and comprehensive approach to addressing the different needs of the farming families.
The effort not only helped provide much-needed assistance to the identified families but also showcased the power of community-driven initiatives in making a positive impact during challenging times.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every Ford Rangerette Official member, their families, businesses and community members who played a role in making the 'Filling our Utes for Farmers' initiative a resounding success!
The generosity, compassion, and willingness to make a difference have touched the lives of 12 farming families in Stanthorpe and Applethorpe who were facing the harsh realities of drought.
